Travel to Thompson Falls

Air Travel

Several airline flights arrive and depart each day from airports in Kalispell, Montana, (126 miles from Thompson Falls), Missoula, Montana, (100 miles from Thompson Falls), and Spokane, Washington, (125 miles from Thompson Falls).

Thompson Falls has a well-maintained 4400' paved runway on the east side of town.  Fuel for non-jet powered aircraft is available on location.

Driving Directions

From Spokane:

From Spokane, travel east on I-90 approximately 122 miles to the St. Regis exit. Take Highway 135 to Highway 200. Turn left on Highway 200 and travel through Paradice and Plains to Thompson Falls.

An alternative route on two lane highways shortens the trip by 30 minutes. Take I-90 east to Kingston and there take the Coer D'Alene River Road to the Thompson Pass Road and on to Thompson Falls. This is a beautiful drive on newly paved roads, which are closed during the winter months.

From Missoula:

From Missoula, take Highway 93 north to Ravalli and there pickup Highway 200 going west. This road follows the Flathead River to its confluence with the Clark Fork River east of Paradice, Montana. This route will take you from Ravalli to Dixon, Perma, Paradice, Plains and Thompson Falls. Total distance from Missoula to Thompson Falls is about 100 miles. The road is very good and the scenery is great.

From Kalispell:

Take Highway 93 south along the west shore of Flathead Lake to Elmo. Then take Highway 28 west and then south past Hot Springs. Continue to Highway 200 on the east side of Plains, Montana. Turn west on 200 and continue 26 miles to Thompson Falls. Travel distance from Kalispell is 126 miles, about 2 hours travel time.
